Nabard loan for A.P.

Hyderabad, Nov. 30

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 150.27 crore as loan assistance to Andhra Pradesh for implementing the comprehensive land development projects. These projects are designed primarily for development of compact blocks of land assigned to SC/ST and landless poor to ensure that these lands become productive assets for them. They would provide 1,93,000 recurring jobs per year and generate 390 lakh man days of non-recurring employment, according to a press release from Nabard. With the current sanction, the aggregate loan assistance by Nabard to the State in the year 2007-08 under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund-XIII stands at Rs 425.12 crore, the release added. - Our Bureau
