Hyderabad, Nov. 22 Hyderabad-based Globarena Technologies announced on Thursday the launch of a one-year diploma course in insurance and risk management in association with Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH).

The former chairman of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA), Mr N. Rangachary, formally launched the course.

Addressing a press conference here, the Managing Director and CEO of Globarena, Mr Naren Ayyar, said that the BIMTECH would provide the course material and Globarena would train the students. Initially, the course would be launched in January 2008.

The one-year diploma would cost Rs 40,000 per student and the company expects to admitting 60 students initially. Globarena had tied-up with 200 colleges across the country.

While the Globarena faculty would be trained at BIMTECH, they in turn would train other trainers. It is proposed to roll out across 200 colleges in a phased manner.
