RCom plans entering DTH arena

Mumbai, Nov. 5

The Anil Ambani controlled Reliance Communications intends to start direct-to-home satellite broadcast TV service in India within the next few months. “The services will be launched in regions where Reliance doesn’t have optical fibre cables and the necessary infrastructure for IPTV,” the RCom Chairman, Mr Anil Ambani, told reporters. However, he did not divulge further details. According to certain estimates, India will be one of the biggest markets for satellite pay-TV services in the next few years. —
