UK co engages Infosys for modernising legacy system

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Nov. 5 Infosys Technologies will modernise UK-based United Utilities’ operations with service oriented architecture (SOA).

United Utilities will engage with Infosys over complete design, development and migration of its operations management system. Over a period of nine months, Infosys will help make United Utilities a service oriented enterprise, delivering a comprehensive approach to SOA, which is important to achieve regulatory compliance, with frameworks, methodologies and re-usable tools. This will help United Utilities address issues such as scalability, extensibility, flexibility removal of redundant data, reuse, and modularity.

Legacy Modernisation

United Utilities selected Infosys because of the company’s Legacy Modernisation solution which utilises principles of SOA to create a flexible IT environment.

“At United Utilities, we focus on leveraging technology to better serve our customers and this is what has led us to adopt a service oriented approach to our enterprise architecture,” said Mr Mike Naden, United Utilities IS Services Director, in a release.
