BBC Worldwide’s production office in India

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Oct.10 British Broadcasting Corporation Worldwide has announced a local production office in India, in keeping with its decision to increase focus on its Indian business.

The BBC Worldwide Productions India will produce and deliver television content, as well as manage acquisition of rights from the BBC and independent producers, and manage key programme titles. This is the corporation’s third local production base, after its Los Angeles production studio, and a joint venture with Freehand in Australia. The LA studio has produced the popular Dancing with the Stars on ABC, whose India version Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa — Dancing with the Stars’ has resumed (its second series) on Sony Entertainment Television.

The production house will be led by Mr Saul Nassé as General Manager and Creative Head.
