Rupee ends unchanged

Mumbai, Oct. 9

The rupee ended at 39.44 against the dollar on Tuesday, almost unchanged from the previous day's close of 39.45/46. It opened at 39.50/51 and touched a low of 39.55, after which it recovered, tracking the gains made by the domestic equity market, said forex dealers. The central bank was there in the market for some time, when the rupee was around 39.47-39.48 levels, said the chief forex dealer with a private bank. The forward premia market also saw minimal movement as the 6-month closed at 1.08 per cent (1.03 per cent) and the 12- month at 1.01 per cent (0.98 per cent). - Our Bureau
