Regulator for civic bodies mooted
Hyderabad, Oct. 8
Mr Koneru Ranga Rao, Andhra Pradesh Minister for
Municipal Administration, has suggested that there
should be a regulatory body to monitor and streamline
the administration mechanism in urban civic bodies.
Addressing a workshop on `Unified municipal law in
Andhra Pradesh' here on Monday, he said the regulatory
set-up for urban administration could be on the lines of
similar systems for power and insurance sectors. The
Minister said that there was a need for unified municipal
law in the State, integrating the existing laws of
municipal corporations and municipalities. - Our Bureau
