Our Bureau

New Delhi, Sept. 25 Automotive air-conditioner manufacturer Sanden Vikas Pvt Ltd, the joint venture company of Vikas Group and Japanese-based Sanden Corporation, said that the company would invest Rs 100 crore within its existing facilities to manufacture variable compressors.

“Currently, cars such as Ford Fiesta, Logan and Swift are importing these compressors which makes the cost 10-15 per cent higher. So we are setting up a manufacturing facility with capacity of one million units by 2010 and 2011,” said Mr Praveen Agarwal, Chairman, Vikas Group.

He said that the plant would be operational by 2008-09 with an initial capacity of 4 lakh units. The company currently has about 10-15 per cent of the domestic automotive air-conditioning market share.
