Career guidance consultant Mr M.C. Das delivering a lecture on ’Self-awareness and goal setting’ organised by The Hindu Business Line Club at P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Sciences in Vijayawada.
Our Bureau Vijayawada, Aug. 28 “The problem with most students is that they are given information and not skills. Information is easily forgotten. It is skills that help students for a lifetime,” according to career guidance expert Mr M.C. Das Speaking on ‘Self-awareness and goal-setting’ as part of talk organised by The Hindu Business Line Club , he said more efforts should be put in this direction to help students become successful. Mr Das took the students on a brief tour of self-discovery and personality reconstruction. “Ask yourselves. Am I using the body, mind and spirit positively? Introspect to find answers” he told students. He narrated how important it was for young people to cultivate constructive and positive thinking by making all efforts to keep at bay negative traits such as anger, hatred, negligence, personality confusion, lack of initiative and absence of drive. Underscoring change as the main objective of career guidance programmes, Mr Das explained the importance of students realising their strengths and weaknesses so as to identify the areas for improvement and start achieving their goals.
