Symantec’s unified solution to tackle information risks

Our Bureau

Pune, Aug. 24

Symantec Corp is all set to offer unified solution for managing information risks around data loss, spam and e-discovery.

Mr Francis deSouza, Vice-President, Information Foundation, Compliance and Security Management, told presspersons that clients can now get the latest version of Symantec Information Foundation, an integrated information risk management product suite that builds on its Security 2.0 strategy.

He said the new solution, which was launched in July this year, would enable information new or existing to be archived, audited and discovered through a validated process.

Mr deSouza said the new release of the foundation would help customers to prevent data loss by delivering an integrated suite. This includes new versions of its products, including Symantec Enterprise Vault 2007, Symatec Mail security 8300 series appliances, IM manager 2007, Mail security for Domino 2007 and beta support for content filtering of outbound web communication.

He noted that it would include new features such as identification, classification and control of sensitive data held in databases, e-mails, instant messaging and file systems.

It would review, hold, release and audit email, IM and Web communications for policy compliance, and beta support for filtering outgoing Web communications to prevent accidental or intentional data loss through sites such as Hotmail, Yahoo Mail or G Mail.
