Outlook BHPV aims at Rs 200-cr turnover
Our Bureau Visakhapatnam, Aug. 15 Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels Ltd (BHPV) here is aiming at a sales turnover of Rs 200 crore during the current financial year, according to Mr Om Prakash, Managing Director. On the occasion of the Independence Day, he hoisted the national flag and exhorted the employees to strive hard to achieve the target. During 2006-2007, the sales turnover was Rs 181.87 crore, which was the highest in the past five years. The company had earned profit, but the interest burden of Rs 56 crore was very heavy. He said BHPV had orders worth Rs 90 crore on hand such as compact heat exchangers and condensers for light combat aircraft placed by Hindusthan Aeronautics Ltd, Bangalore, worth Rs 20.10 crore, offshore piping for the Dredging Corporation of India worth Rs 28.13 crore, buffer vessels for the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (Vizag steel plant) worth Rs 23.11 crore and equipment for Bharat Oman Refinery worth Rs 16.16 crore.
