Apollo telemedicine network adds Muscat

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Aug. 6 Apollo Group of Hospitals has connected its medical centre in Muscat (Oman) with its telemedicine network, facilitating the latter to have access with the specialists in all of the group’s hospitals.

Dr Ahmed Bin Abdul Quadir Ghassani, Under Secretary (Health Affairs, Ministry of Health, Oman), launched the service in Muscat on Monday.

“Apart from video consultation, specialists in India can review the investigations of patients in Oman (including laboratory tests, X-Ray, Sonogram, CT Scan, MRI) and give a comprehensive opinion to the patients and doctors attending them. This can also be used for taking second opinion from experienced Apollo doctors in complex clinical situations,” an Apollo press release said here.

The connectivity would also help the medical fraternity in Oman for their CME (continuing medication education).

Currently, the telemedicine network connected over 100 destinations in India and abroad.
