Our Bureau Hyderabad, Aug. 3 The University of Hyderabad has lined up several programmes for expansion, besides augmenting student intake. By the end of the 11th Plan, the University would more than double student intake from 3,000 currently and introduce new and innovative programmes driven by social relevance and market dynamics, said Prof Seyed E. The University has also established some new centres for earth and space sciences, high energy materials, cognitive science, R&D in aging, health psychology, study of social exclusion and inclusive policy and culture and innovation studies, among others. One of the objectives of the University, accredited with a five-star ranking by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), is to build upon an effective public-private partnerships in higher education. The Institute of Life Sciences opened a few months back is a “wonderful” example of public-private partnership, he added.
