BEML’s first-quarter profit after tax has risen to Rs 23 crore (Rs 15.01 crore). Sales for the period touched Rs 421.78 crore (Rs 369.59 crore), growing 14 per cent. Profit before tax at Rs 36.36 crore (Rs 23.31 crore) was 56 per cent higher. Exports grew to Rs 13 crore (Rs 8 crore). The Defence PSU’s order book stood at Rs 1,621 crore at the end of the quarter under review. The company expects to achieve a turnover of Rs 3,000 crore for the current fiscal.
