Tekelec gets Rs 100-cr BSNL contract

NASDAQ-listed Tekelec has bagged a contract from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd for supply of integrated signalling system solution to support the PSU’s transition to next-generation networks. While the deal size was kept under wraps, industry sources pegged it around Rs 100 crore.

The Tekelec solution will provide BSNL with a separate signalling plane that utilises Internet protocol-based connectivity and centralised control and routing to connect its varied, highly dispersed signalling end points. It “gives BSNL a homogeneous SS7 core network — independent of the service or technology used in the network, said a press release.
