The Hindu Business Line : Non-poaching pact among BPOs mooted

New Delhi, July 19 With the business process outsourcing industry battling with high attrition, a non-poaching agreement among the members of Business Process Industry Association of India (BPIAI) was mooted today.

In a session on call centres, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, Ms Ritti Jarg, Chief Executive Officer, Intouch Solutions Pvt Ltd, said that apart from non-poaching pact, companies should organise external programmes on professional and personal development and promote internal job postings along with team bonding initiatives to check attrition.

The industry should do regular attrition analysis with background and reference checks, she said. Establishing correct expectations during the interview along with rewards and recognition can check attrition, she added.

Action plan

Speaking at the session, Mr Sam Chopra, President, BPIAI, said, “The association must focus on a three-phase plan of action – consolidate, build and grow”. Mr Chopra asked the industry to be proactive in hiring employees and get trained resources to meet the demand. He said that the industry needs to focus on tax issues and devalued dollar to create a future proof business model.
