MTNL gets Rs 1,461-cr IT refund

New Delhi, July 17

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd has got a refund of Rs 1,461.68 crore from the Income-Tax Department. This comes after the Income-Tax Appellate Tribunal had ordered the Department to refund the money collected with respect to licence fee and 80IA deductions over the past years. MTNL and Income-Tax Department were engaged in litigation for the past several years over this issue. –
