IN A BAD SHAPE: A worker attending to a copra milling machine at an oil mill in Kochi, Kerala. Copra production in the country has remained stagnant for the past few years, with the output ranging between 7.50 lakh tonnes and 8 lakh tonnes. Copra industry is in a bad shape due to fluctuations in coconut oil prices and rising popularity of palm oil.
