New Delhi June 25 Bilateral trade between India and Thailand touched $2 billion in the first eight months of fiscal 2006-07, latest government data showed.

The growth in bilateral trade in the recent years came up for discussion during the meeting between the Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Kamal Nath, and the Commerce Minister of Thailand, Mr Krirk-Krai Jirapet, here.

Meanwhile, the Thailand Prime Minister, Mr Surayud Chulanot, is to begin his three-day official visit to India from Tuesday.
