Petroleum Industry & Economy - Petroleum Crude basket touches $69.28 Our Bureau
New Delhi June 19 In line with the volatile movement in international crude prices, the Indian crude oil basket on Monday touched $69.28 a barrel. This is the highest so far in the current fiscal year. The Indian basket comprises Oman-Dubai sour grade crude and Brent dated sweet crude in 58:42 ratio. Brent crude on Monday closed at $72.83 per barrel, up 83 cents. Dubai closed higher by 48 cents at $66.75 and Oman by 40 cents to $67.03. However, the under-realisation suffered by the oil marketing companies on petrol as on June 15 saw an improvement when compared to the numbers as on June 1. The under-recovery on petrol as on June 15 stood at Rs 5.04 per litre (down from Rs 6.13), but that of diesel went up to Rs 3.80 a litre (Rs 3.76). Under realisation is the revenue loss suffered by oil marketing companies for selling petroleum products below the cost price.
