TCS hires 789 VIT students on campus

Chennai June 15 Software major TCS has recruited 789 students of VIT University, Vellore, at the campus selection held earlier this month. This, according to a press release, was far higher than the 525 students that TCS recruited last year.

The release says that VIT has successfully found placements for 1,500 of its B.Tech and PG students in several top companies this year. They will be joining the companies in June-July 2008 on competitive salaries of Rs 3.15-3.3 lakh a year.

According to the VIT University Chancellor, Mr G. Viswanathan, the university worked out modalities to prepare the student by imparting training through aptitude tests, personality development courses, technical orientation, besides making the students listen to talks by successful entrepreneurs before they applied for jobs.
