Amway adding more offices, products in India

Ahmedabad April 26 Direct selling FMCG company, Amway India Enterprises, has announced it was adding 100 more offices to its existing 110 offices across India and bringing more products to its basket in the next one year.

Mr P. Sanker, Director (Legal and Corporate Affairs), told reporters here that the company's turnover of Rs 738 crore in 2006-07 is likely to cross the Rs 1,000-crore mark this year. The company, which has over 4.50 lakh "active business owners" in India, procures almost 85 per cent of products within the country through five third-party contract manufacturers.

Amway's product categories include nutrition and wellness, cosmetics, home care and personal care.

Nearly 60 per cent of the turnover comes from 30 cosmetic and 16 nutrition products. Its Nutralite range accounts for 55 per cent of its total business.
