IT finishing school at Mysore to produce 5,000 graduates this year

The new IT finishing school at Mysore will produce 5,000 graduates this year, and 35,000 by 2009, said IT and BT Secretary to the State Government Mr M.N. Vidyashankar, speaking at an industry seminar in the city on Thursday.
"This will be the answer to the requirements of the IT industry," said Mr Vidyashankar. The school will offer a one - year post-graduate diploma course. The course fees are at a steep Rs 75,000 per annum but are expected to drop next year. The course is aimed at producing graduates who are trained in soft-skills, corporate culture and technical skills. It is certified by University of Mysore. "The students will be guaranteed placement and will cater to the entry and mid-level posts of the IT industry, if not high-level," he said, while speaking at a national seminar on IT standardisation organised by Manufacturer's Association for Information Technology.
NANO technology
Bangalore Nano will be inaugurated on December 6, 2007. The annual two-day event will feature only conferences. There will be no exhibition, noted Mr Vidyashankar, in contradiction to Karnataka's Principal Secretary for Information Technology Mr Anup K. Pujari's statement in August last year. Bangalore Nano was to have two components - academic, where the focus would be on education and sharing knowledge and exhibition, where the benefits of nano technology would be showcased. However, it was decided that the event would only focus on conferences, said Mr Vidyashankar.
