Infrastructure States - Gujarat Adanis sign MoU with Maharashtra Academy Our Bureau
Ahmedabad March 9 The Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research's (MAEER), which runs the Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), has announced its alliance with the Adani Group to provide education-related impetus for the development of infrastructure at the Mundra Port and SEZ, one of the first port-based multi-product SEZ with a sea port and airport within the SEZ. There will be two institutions, namely a day boarding school for 200 students in the first year and will gradually scale up to 600 in the tenth year, to prepare them for CBSE or IGCSE Certification. The engineering college will offer four-year bachelor's degree course in mechanical / electrical / electronics & telecommunication / marine engineering with an intake capacity of 240 students annually, the Adanis said in a release here. MAEER manages several educational institutions in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh. The Mundra campus will be its maiden foray in Gujarat. Mr Sanjay Gupta, Director, MPSEZ, who signed the agreement, said the Adani Group had already tied up for a hospital facility at Mundra. Dr Sunil Karad, Executive Director, MAEER, Pune, signed the agreement on behalf of MAFER. Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd is one of the leading non-captive private sector ports.
