Foodgrains' association unhappy

Madurai, March 1

The Tamilnadu Foodgrains Merchants Association, in a statement here, while welcomingthe Budget proposals such as reduction in duty on sunflower oil, duty cut on petrol and diesel, exclusion of the expenditure on free samples and on displays from Fringe Benefit Tax, schemes for ground water recharge, and reduction of Central Sales Tax to 3 per cent, has however expressed its disappointment over non-consideration of their demands of exemption for traders from paying service tax levied on the goods received through transport and increasing the personal income-tax limit to Rs 1.5 lakh.
