Tailored plans Promises `luxury clothing at affordable prices'. Signs agreement with Pyramid retail. No plans to give up DAKS deal.
Savile Row, which promises "Luxury clothing at affordable prices", is all set to enhance its footing in India, according to Ms Reetika Mehra Dalal, Executive-in-Charge, Upmarket Brands Division, Forbes Gokak Ltd. Forbes Gokak entered into a licencee agreement with Savile Row, London, in 2005 and has established six company owned and 20 shop-in-shop stores across the country. "Till now, we were selling out of hotels, but we plan to bring the brand into malls and high street stores in the next two years. We have signed an agreement with Pyramid Retail, which is on a massive expansion plan," Ms Dalal told Business Line. Ms Dalal said apart from women and kids wear, there were plans to bring in golf wear and watchline among the accessories range by this spring-summer. "Savile Row will be out with its bespoke (made-to-order) arm by next year," she added.
`Better pricing'
Trussardi, which is one among the three brands under Forbes Gokak, is also expected to be out with its ready-to-wear by end 2008. "Our collections are international but our price strategy is India-centric. We are really working hard on product, price and communications and hope to see our sales increasing in the next 5-7 years," said Ms Dalal and added "we plan to have at least 10 points of sale by this spring-summer and another 35-40 by the next year."
