Alliances & Joint Ventures Motorola, IIIT-B ink R&D pact Our Bureau
The partnership will also enable Motorola to effectively utilise the results of the research efforts aimed at developing innovative wireless broadband solutions for emerging markets like India. The focus of the collaboration will be related to resource and capacity management, appropriate scheduling policies and quality of service.
Innovative solutions
Currently, high-end research is being undertaken for providing innovative solutions to improve quality of service over WiMAX. Dr Chandra Kintala, Director of Motorola India Research Labs, said: "Through this collaborative effort, we intend to advance our research and development and achieve breakthrough technological innovation." Motorola has already undertaken joint R&D initiatives with several other leading institutions, like IIT-Chennai, IIT-Mumbai and IISc, Bangalore. Prof S. Sadagopan, Director of IIIT-B said, "Our institute has a primary commitment to teaching and research. We believe our association with Motorola will give our students exposure to real-life technical projects and provide them with the right platform to harness their knowledge and skills."
