Students take part in walkathon

Our Bureau

Kolkata, Feb.2

Hundreds of school children participated in the walkathon organised by the SOS Children's Village in Kolkata today. The objective of the event was to create mass awareness about caring for orphans. "Actually, we want the maximum involvement of school children so that our adopted children will be boosted like anything and even they have a feeling that they belong to the society," said Aftab Rasool, the area co-ordinator-East for SOS Villages, India. The school children were encouraged to reflect their bond of love and accept their social responsibility towards the underprivileged. The SOS Villages, an NGO, caters to the needs of over two-lakh orphans in India.
