Employment Info-Tech - Human Resources Bangalore likely to be top hiring city: Survey Our Bureau
For the January-March '07 quarter, Bangalore is expected to be the top hiring city and IT the top recruiting sector. According to the findings of the TeamLease Employment Outlook for the January-March quarter, the Bangalore-based employers have expressed the highest net increase in employment outlook (7 per cent) over last quarter, with IT and ITeS the major contributors to the employment growth. Hyderabad (four per cent) and Pune (two per cent) have also expressed a positive hiring outlook for the coming quarter, according to the study. While in Hyderabad, it is the IT/ITeS sectors that will contribute to the strong hiring trend, in Pune it will be the manufacturing companies. In Mumbai, recruitment may largely come from the manufacturing and the financial services sectors. The sharpest net increase in business outlook growth over last quarter has been in Kolkata at 13 per cent followed by Pune at 9 per cent, Ahmedabad 8 per cent, Chennai at seven per cent, Hyderabad and Delhi at 6 per cent. The sectors that indicate an increase in business outlook include IT, ITeS and manufacturing. According to Mr Sampath Shetty, Vice-President, TeamLease Services Pvt Ltd., "The employment outlook continues to be positive (at the same level as the previous quarter) and reflects the increasing opportunities for job seekers and the need for talent. The economy has the manpower and the challenge would be to map the available skill sets and work up the last mile employability challenges to actually matching the demand to supply."
