Bolero, Scorpio prices hiked

Our Bureau

Mumbai , Jan. 17

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has hiked the price of its utility vehicles, Bolero and Scorpio. According to a press release, the hike in price of the Scorpio ranges from Rs 3,000 to Rs 13,000; the flagship model will be available at prices ranging from Rs 8.33 lakh to Rs 9.72 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The Bolero range will have a price hike between Rs 5600 and Rs 6500 and is available in the range of Rs 6.31 lakh - Rs 6.97 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

This price hike will be effective from last week of January 2007.

Commenting on the price hike, Mr Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Vice-President (sales and marketing), M&M automotive sector, said that it was a necessary step due to increase in input cost as well as other inflationary factors such as running cost of business operations. Though, he added that the increase in cost still maintains the value for money proposition across the Bolero and Scorpio range. The price hike is limited to the flagship brands only and will not transcend down to the other models in the utility vehicle range.
