Lower than expected

HIT BY PESTS: A worker harvesting coffee in a farm near Mananthavady in Kerala's Wayanad district. The Coffee Board has cut the production estimate for the current crop year that began in November by by 12,300 tonnes. In its post-monsoon projection, the board has fixed the output at 2.88 lakh tonnes against the post-blossom estimate of 3.03 lakh tonnes. Production this year has been affected by pest infestation.
