Farm sector growth

This is with reference to "Manufacturing, services fuel 9.2 pc growth Q2" (Business Line, December 1). This is laudable performance.

But if the problem of low growth in agriculture is not solved, even a double-digit growth rate will not have the necessary impact. The problem of productivity in agriculture and remunerative income for the farmer need to be tackled urgently.
