Meet to examine agri-biz relevance

Mumbai, Nov. 20

A one-day consultative meet to discuss `Role of Agribusiness in Poverty Reduction' will be held in Pune on November 21. Agribusiness has the potential to accelerate the development process by inducing transformation in cultivation, processing and marketing of farm produce. Organised by Oxfam International's Make Trade Fair Campaign for South Asia and supported by the Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals, the meet would examine the relevance of agribusiness in reducing, if not eliminating, poverty especially in the backdrop of small and marginal nature of farms. Corporate heads, top bankers and researchers would address the gathering.
