Yash Tech to double headcount

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Nov. 15

Yash Technologies, an enterprise solutions provider, has announced its plans to expand India operations, that would see them double their headcount to 2,000 by December 2007.

The company has entered into a strategic partnership with the $3.6-billion chemical company — Chemtura Corporation, which would mean setting up of a dedicated centre for the latter's group enterprise application services and management of infrastructure.

The Chief Executive Officer of Yash Technologies, Mr Bala Navuluri, said the company had a healthy business pipeline and is poised to close this year with revenues of $60 million. "Given the current business visibility, we expect to log in revenues of $100 million," he said.

Addressing a press conference after inaugurating their fifth India centre and their second in Hyderabad, which would focus on services for Chemtura Corporation, Mr Navuluri said that they plan to add about 1,000 engineers by December 2007 and expect to invest up to Rs 20 crore in expansion.

Apart from this, they are in the process of negotiating for a land to develop a campus in Hyderabad.

The company, which has three centres in the US, has recently consolidated operations in Singapore. Following an acquisition of a technology company, they are in the process of expanding operations in Hong Kong and New Jersey, he said.

The Chief Information Officer of Chemtura, Mr Kenneth L. Donahue, said Chemtura Corporation has been formed after recent merger of chemical companies. The company is working towards developing an integrated SAP technology architecture.

While they did not disclose deal size, they said that this would be a long association.
