The centre would act as a virtual extension of the Danske Bank's IT division and support its business across Northern Europe.
Bangalore Nov. 15 ITC Infotech, the wholly owned subsidiary of ITC Ltd, has set up a dedicated development centre for Denmark's largest bank, Danske Bank, in Bangalore by investing Rs 3.75 crore. The centre would act as a virtual extension of the Danske Bank's IT division and support its business across Northern Europe. Mr Sanjiv Puri, Managing Director, ITC Infotech, said the centre would begin operations with 60-people initially and focus on development and support of Danske Bank's systems. The banking and financial services segment accounts for 25 per cent of ITC Infotech's revenues. However, Mr Puri declined to reveal the financial details of the deal with Danske Bank, but said it was a multi-year engagement. Further, ITC Infotech has also opened an office in Denmark, he said. The Bangalore centre would provide services across a full range of technology capabilities including IBM Mainframe, PeopleSoft HRMS (human resources management software), front-end applications on the Microsoft Platform (.NET) and Lotus Notes-based applications.
Additional Facility
ITC Infotech has close to 4,500 employees in its development centres in Bangalore and Kolkata, of which 1,900 are in IT services and the rest in IT enabled services. The company has plans to open an additional facility in the West Bengal capital, he added. ITC Infotech reported revenue of $64 million for fiscal 2006. The company, which has been growing at around 85 per cent for six years expects, to grow ahead of the industry.
