Human Resources iGATE to recruit over 2,000 V. Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad , Oct. 26 Technology provider iGATE Global Solutions today hinted at inducting about 2,000 associates across its delivery centres in India, with a big chunk of this number from Hyderabad, where it is planning a special economic zone (SEZ). The company currently employs about 5,500 people, of them 3,000 are based in Bangalore, 550 in Hyderabad and about 500 each in Chennai and Noida centres, and the rest overseas on site. The Chief Delivery Officer of iGATE, Mr Mohan Sekhar, said that the company is awaiting nod for a 25-acre SEZ in Hyderabad and another one at Bangalore. Based on the regulatory clearances and allotment of land, "we would finalise investment plan for the Hyderabad campus." This will complement the ongoing expansion plans now under way at Bangalore, with an outlay of Rs 20 crore.
Business portfolio
Referring to its expanding business portfolio, Mr Sekhar said the number of $1 million plus clientele has gone up to 26 and about 26 per cent of the business comes from GE. The Hyderabad centre currently handles about 15 key clients, and specialises in the areas of enterprise services, Mr Raj Lanka, Head of Hyderabad operations of iGATE, said. "Over the last four quarters, the business growth has been robust and if this trend continues for the next few quarters, by next fiscal, we would be able to cross overall revenues of Rs 1,000 crore. And a significant part of the company expansion plans would take place in Hyderabad," Mr Sekhar said.
Consulting biz
The consulting business now contributes about 7 per cent to the company revenues and though the percentage wise this may not grow significantly, this along with the integrated solutions approach through iTops, has begun to add value to the company clientele.
