AP bids for overseas placements

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Monday directed the Employment and Overseas Manpower Company AP Ltd (OMCAP) to formulate a scheme to generate 30,000 jobs overseas annually. Reviewing the activities of labour, employment training, factories and related aspects of State Labour Ministry, he said that a scheme for upgrading five ITIs in the State as centres of excellence, being implemented by the State and Central funds, has received necessary clearances. According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, the Employees State Insurance Corporation has decided to construct a super speciality hospital with an outlay of Rs 50 crore. The Chief Minister was informed that Hong Kong-based firm was recruiting about 500 security guards besides an American company seeking to induct about 200 truck drivers. The OMCAP Institute proposes to train 30,000 construction workers, who have demand in the Gulf countries.
