Sun Microsystems India announced it led the non-x86/UNIX server market in Q2 2006 (August) with 38 per cent by revenue and 56.6 per cent market share by units. The Asia Pacific Quarterly Enterprise Server Tracker conducted by analyst firm International Data Corporation (IDC) noted that Sun ended the second quarter of this year with 19 per cent market share in the country.

It is at the third position in the overall India server market.
