Convergence Info-Tech - Internet Go, Yaar! gets good response L.N. Revathy
Coimbatore , Oct. 6 Social networking site Go, Yaar! has, according to its founder and CEO Ms Phalgun Raju, seen a 10-fold growth in registration within a fortnight of its launch. Encouraged by the growth within a fortnight of its launch in mid-September, Ms Raju is planning to roll out mobile networking feature very soon. "We see mobile as a significant platform to be wholly integrated with the Go, Yaar! online community," Ms Raju said. Stating that social networking was still at nascent stage in India, Ms Raju said she specifically built it to create the next generation social networking destination. Responding to an e-mail, she said the site, beyond connecting and reconnecting peers, colleagues and family, helped users create blogs, share media such as videos and photos and in forming college and company networks and communities. "There are several key differentiators between Go, Yaar! and other social networking sites. For instance, through its video feature, the user would be able to go to any popular site that offered video sharing, upload and bookmark that video, share event specific photos with multiple members." In the area of privacy, Go, Yaar! offers customisable privacy settings.
