MS MAMATA BANERJEE

Kolkata, Oct 3

Ms Mamata Banerjee's Trinamul Congress (TC) has said that it will not attend the all-party meeting convened by the West Bengal Government on Tuesday to discuss issues pertaining to the acquisition of agricultural land at Singur in Hooghly district for the Tatas' small car project.

The party has also demanded a CBI probe into the police action taken on September 25 against Ms Banerjee and farmers who were protesting against the acquisition of multi-crop agricultural land for the project. The Trinamul Congress has also said that it would not call off its proposed "Bangla bandh" that has been called on October 9 in support of the issue.
