New H-P tape drives

Hewlett-Packard India has announced the availability of two new tape drives in the Indian market: Ultrium 920 & Ultrium 448 SAS.

The U920 is based on third generation LTO (Linear Tape Open) technology supports all LTO Gen-3 media & is read-write compatible with LTO Gen-2 media & read compatible with LTO Gen-1 media.

The U920 Tape Drive WORM (Write-Once, Read-Many) data protection feature offers a secure method for archiving records. The Ultrium 448 SAS Tape Drive based on second generation LTO technology is being positioned by the firm as a tape back-up solution for mid-range users.
