A FISHERMAN MENDS a net while his mate holds an umbrella on a hot day in Chavakkad near Thrissur in Kerala. While most southern States are inundated by heavy rains, Kerala is under a dry spell for the past few days. Rainfall recorded in the State from June 1 to August 7 is 121cm, 47 cm less than the corresponding period last year.
