BEML posts 21% rise in PAT

Bharat Earth Movers Ltd said it has posted profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 15.01 crore, almost 21 per cent growth year-on-year, and total sales of Rs 369.6 crore for the quarter ended June 30. PAT for the same period last fiscal was Rs 12.41 crore.

The defence PSU recorded its highest-ever profit before tax of Rs 23.31 crore (Rs 19.95 crore).

Its order book till June-end stood at Rs 2,490 crore, with the company bagging a letter of intent for 400 metro coaches estimated at Rs 1,700 crore.
