Wipro Auto Group gets certification

Wipro Technologies said its Automotive Group has become the first organisation in the world to achieve Automotive SPICE Organisational Maturity Level 5 certification. The Automotive SPICE initiative included car manufacturers such as AUDI AG, BMW Group, DiamlerChrysler, Fiat Auto, Ford Werke, Jaguar and Land Rover.

Wipro Technologies' Chief Quality Officer, Mr Sambuddha Deb, said the achievement was a significant one and reinforced Wipro's leadership in quality process.

Automotive SPICE had developed a common framework for the assessment of suppliers in the automotive industry through the publication of the Automotive SPICE process Assessment model and process reference model.

A joint assessment team from Impronova AB of Sweden and KPMG (India) carried out the PATHFINDER assessment. The scope of certification included design, development conversion/porting, maintenance and testing software systems in the automotive domain.
