TVS Motor turnover up 12%

TVS Motor Co posted its highest-ever turnover of Rs 3,305.96 crore during the financial year 2005-06. The company achieved a growth of 12 per cent over the previous year's turnover of Rs 2,955.21 crore.

The company has attributed this to a strong growth in the motorcycles market during the year. The company recorded a PBT of Rs 168.45 crore and PAT of Rs 117 crore during the period.

The total number of two-wheelers sold during the year was 1.34 million units, recording a growth of 15 per cent over previous year's sales of 1.17 units.

According to a release by the company, the launch of Apache helped strengthen the motorcycle portfolio of the company. Exports grew during the year clocking a record 78,644 units during the year as against 48,560 units in the corresponding previous year.
