Events Pune Expo 2006 opens tomorrow Our Bureau
Pune , Feb. 7 THE fifth edition of the five-day Pune Expo 2006 is to be kick-started on February 9. The expo would be inaugurated by Dr Wilfred Aulbur, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of DaimlerChrysler. Talking to presspersons, Mr Ravi Pandit, President, Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), said for the last four years MCCIA has been organising this business event for providing a platform for brand building and industry interaction. About 300 stalls are expected to be put up and of this about 10 stalls have been allotted to the IT sector. The expo will show case the latest from various sectors such as, automobiles and auto-components, engineering, education, careers, training, agribusiness and food processing, electronics & consumer durables and service sectors such as finance, banking and insurance, and real estate. He said forums on doing business with Belgium, Finland and Canada have been organised where delegations from those countries would participate and interact with the Indian entrepreneurs. He said a seminar on special economic zones has also been organised on February 10. MCCIA and SBI Credit counselling cell is jointly organising a special programme for women entrepreneurs on selection of business and business transactions on February 12. And for the IT sector, Cat Computers has arranged a special seminar on `Today's Challenges to IT Security' on the inaugural day and the closing day February 13. Venky's cookery demo and competition will be the added attraction at the expo.
