Bangalore, Dec. 29

The Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr Dharam Singh, has assured IT firms that the State Government is tightening security.

He was speaking to newspersons after a high-level security meeting with police officials and bureaucrats. "There is no need for fear among any of the IT companies. The State Government will provide full security to the companies."

Mr Singh said that the terror strike would not cause any disruption in the investment plans of either IT companies or the biotechnology companies in the State.

However, the Government has cautioned all scientific, technical, and industrial institutions planning conferences in Bangalore to inform the State Government and police departments in advance.

Meanwhile, research institutions and public sector undertakings coming under the purview of the Ministry of Defence have stepped up security.
