Pizza Hut ends 2005 with 127 restaurants

THE fast food pizza major, Pizza Hut has announced a 45 per cent growth rate this year, closing the financial year with 127 restaurants across the country.

Currently a leader in the branded pizza market with 108 restaurants across 26 cities, it is in the process of adding another 19 to its portfolio.

The current expansion would scale up its presence to 32 cities including Kanpur, Mysore, Hubli, Mangalore and Indore.

Mr Arvind Mediratta, Chief Marketing Officer, Yum Restaurants International, said, "The brand is growing at a rate of about 45 per cent in terms of restaurant expansion. The next year will see the brand circling new heights with another 35 restaurants to be added, taking the total figure to 162." The group would be focusing on consolidating its position in the metros and increasing its presence in the tier two cities.
