Infrastructure Another panel on airport modernisation bid process set up Our Bureau
New Delhi , Dec. 28 THE Government has constituted another panel of technical and financial experts to advise the committee headed by the Cabinet Secretary on the bidding process for the modernisation and restructuring of Delhi and Mumbai airports. Official sources said that the panel is headed by the Managing Director, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Mr E. Sreedharan, and includes the Financial Controller of the Railways and senior officials of the Airports Authority of India, among others. The empowered Group of Ministers headed by the Defence Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, decided to constitute a committee headed by the Cabinet Secretary after differences emerged in the Inter-Ministerial Group looking into the modernisation and restructuring of the two metro airports. The bidders left in the fray include a consortium led by Reliance, GMR, and D.S. groups.
