Roadways Japanese team interested in outer ring road project Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Dec. 28 A SIX-MEMBER Japanese team, including Pacific Consultant International, Tokyo, called on the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to express their interest in working on outer ring road (ORR) project. Several other global players have evinced interest. Interacting with the team, the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy, said any reputed concern that comes forward to complete the ORR at the earliest would be offered the project through competitive bid. The Chief Minister said 4-5 companies from Malaysia, Dubai, US and Singapore have also evinced interest. According to a press release, Dr Reddy interacted with the Japanese team headed by the Chairman of General Council, Liberal Democratic Party and Member of Parliament, Japan, Mr Fumio Kyuma, and including the Chairman of Asia Part Fund, Mr Mitsuji Konoshita, Mr Kei Hara, Mr Harmil Singh, Mr Itaru Mae (Pacific Consultant) and Dr Nagayama. Pacific Consultant also evinced interest in the proposed knowledge corridor and cluster development in Hyderabad metro area. Mr Fumio Kyuma said: "He was impressed with IT development in Hyderabad and invited the Chief Minister to visit Japan." The Chief Minister said that the Government expects the first phase of the ORR project to be completed within 24 months and the remaining by June 2008. He wanted the Japanese organisation to submit a detailed project report by the end of January 2006.
